Section 9 Water Act Approval
Any times works are planned within the High Water Mark of a stream, lake, ditch, or other freshwater body, a Section 9 notification or approval is required from the Ministry of Environment (MOE). Generally Section 9 Approval is required for large projects. The MOE website has a list of projects that only require notification.
